Installing the recovery console after windows is already installed

I got some information about installing the windows recovery console after
sindows is already installed on the computer.
1. click start, run, and then type cd-rom drive letter:\i386\winni32.exe
/cmdcons in the open box, where cd-rom drive letter is the drive letter
assigned to your cd-rom drive.
2. click ok, follow the instructions on the screen to finish setup and then
restart you computer.
when I do this, it tells me I have a newer version of windows and the
command cannot be executed.
I have winxp sp2.
any ideas?

thanks,

Bud Z

The error occurs, probably, because your cd is sp1, and you upgraded to sp2 by a download,
or sp2 upgrade cd.
I'm not sure, but if you have, or could borrow a full sp2 install cd, that should work for
you.
