Can't install Realtek ac97 audio on Intel 915 chipset

Hello!

I purchased a new HP desktop.
It's Intel 915 chipset.
I fresh-installed Windows XP Professional.
Before the installation, it came with every driver properly installed.
But after the installation, Realtek AC97 Audio on board is not
recognized.
It's shown "PCI Device".

I tried:

Installed Intel Chipset driver.
Installed Realtek AC97 Audio driver from Intel and from Realtek.
Updated to Realtek HD.
Tried to manually install Realtek AC97 but it says "cannot start
device: code(10)"

All failed.
I contacted HP via online chat 3 times and tried everything they
recommended.
But it still doesn't work.

Can anybody help?

Thanks.

As far as Windows is concerned, disabling a device in BIOS is equivalent to
physically removing the device from the machine.

When a device is disabled in BIOS, the presence of the device is not
announced to Windows. Because Windows has no idea that a device exists, the
device is not "identified", there is no attempt to install drivers for the
device.
