unable to install Realtek High Definition Audio drivers 5423

I am unable to install Realtek High Definition Audio drivers.
The install fails irrespective if I attempt to install from CD included with
motherboard or downloaded file from web site.
InstallShield starts then halts and advises Realtek High Definition Audio
driver install has failed. InstallShield then closes. I had tried to
uninstalled the audio drivers from the device manager, but it says u dont
have any audio drivers installed. i tried all the possible options. My mother
board serial is 'Genuine Inter (R) Desktop Board D945GCNL' and the audio
driver is "AUD_ALLoS_5423_PV_Realtek' or 'Realtek High Defination Audio
Driver 5.10.0.5423'
Any assistance is appreciated.

Check out the other thread with exact same problem and make sure you have
applied the KB888111 patch prior installing audio drivers.
