Can't install defender

Hello,
can't install Defender. Get this:
"The installation package is not supported by this processor type. Contact
your vendor".
I use notebook HP NC 6120, XP SP2, Intel Centrino 1,86 Mhz, 512 RAM.
What might be wrong?

Thanks, Engel- my mistake was I tried to install 64 bit. Now everything's OK.

In addition to Engel's thoughts, which I agree with, the message appears to
also be caused by a corrupted or incomplete download.

I'd recommend re-downloading, and saving to a known location--like the
desktop.

After the download is complete, disable real-time protection by your
antivirus for long enough to do the installation.

Bill, the download of 64 was succesful, but I couldn't run it on my notebook.
I've deleted all the folder and intalled 32 later. It works fine.

Glad you figured it out--Perhaps this is always the cause of this error, and
I'm mistaken about the corrupted downloads. The two versions are a source
of confusion, and the download page has been changed to make that confusion
less likely.
