Cant install any MS products.

I have windows xp freshly installed when I got to install
SP1 or the RPC Patch it says

Setup could not verify the Integrity of the file
update.inf. Make sure the Cryptograpic service is running
on this computer.


the service is running, also when I go to windows update
it continually asks me to update my windows update but it
never does just goes back to the same page. Thanks for
the help.
 
Hi Mark,

Open Windows Explorer to C:\Windows\system32, right-click/rename the
catroot2 folder to catold. Then retry the SP1 installation. When finished,
there will be a new catroot2 folder and you can safely delete the old
renamed one.
