Can't import updated sld using component database manager: permissionerror

I imported an sld, then realized I needed to make changes, now I'm getting:

Copying 'REPITCStandardFonts' repository files to
\\X6DA8-G2-XP\Repositories\{A6746789-47B1-42A1-9523-590F9A2862E3}
Error: Cannot delete repository files in the target folder. Please make
sure you have write access to the files.

The following files have not been imported
G:\XPeResources\XPe\Components\ITCStandardFonts\ITCStandardFonts.sld

File(s) Processed : 1, File(s) Succeeded : 0

I do have write access to the files, I can create folders/files, but not
change their names. Effective Permissions tells me I have Full Control,
but still nothing.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Graham

Dear Graham,

If your account has full control right, it should be okay.

But you are able to check it again and do following steps.
1. Explorer to "Windows Embedded Data" directory.
2. Check Permission of "Repositories" directory.
3. If your system is used by your account only, my suggestion is
I. Delete Everyone account
II. Add your account and give it full control permission.

I ended up renaming the archive directory and re-importing.

This is a old problem. After XPE tools setup, you want to change the folder
permission to allow you to update components. Otherwise it won't be fun
having to re-create a repository each time.

The strange thing is that the "effective permissions" dialog claims my
account had Full Control over the repository directory. I could create
files, but not change any in there.

Is the problem with the share permissions, or the permissions on the
filesystem?

Thanks,
Graham

There shouldn't be a problem with the share; you want Full Access to the
share.. The only thing I can think of is to disable "Simple File Sharing"
in the folder options if it wasn't already.

I also encounter the same problem once for a while.
I am sure the account I am using has full access to the repository.
What I did was to reset the privilege for "CREATOR OWNER" and it did work.
I am not sure if this is part of the problems.
