Can't get my system restore to restore to a earlier date

I can't get my system restore to work.It starts like it
is going to but the blue bar that shows that it is
restoring it goes very, very slow and then finally it
jumps to the end and then it shows system restoration
incomplete. I even defragmented it but still no change.
please help me.Thanks

I have been experiencing the same problem. I think my
problem is because there is a system conflict between
Norton System Utilities and Windows XP Restore. After I
do a system check on Nortons all of the restore points
result in a incomplete sysyem restoration. If i chose a
restore point after I have done a Norton Systems check my
restore points going forward work. If you are using
Nortons I would suggest you are having the same problem.
