Cant get ICS to work

I have setup ICS on both of my computers at home connected by LAN but
whenever the second computer trys to access the internet it just.....doesnt.
I have ticked the ICS boxes in Network Connections. The first computer is on
XP pro but the second is on 98 first edition, ive heard it only works on
second, is this true?

Yes, I believe that is correct. If you have broadband, just get a router
instead. Your Win98FE won't have any problem with that.

Partly true. W98FE and W95 cannot be the ICS server, but they can be ICS
clients. So if your XP PC has the two NICs, one for the WAN and one for
the LAN, and your W98FE PC has a single NIC for the LAN, then ICS should work.

That said, I recommend using a router for your DSL/cable modem, with all
PCs connected to LAN ports on that router, because hardware routing is
more robust than software (ICS) routing. For a bit more detail, see
