I'm trying to reinstall WIndows XP Professional on my computer and after I
insert the disk and ask it to delete the existing partition it says that it
can't because the voulme contains setup files needed for installation. I have
even tried going into Control Panle under disk management and aske it to
reformat the C drive but it is grayed out an not an option. HELP!!

You have to boot with the cd to do this. If you insert the cd with Windows
running, you can only do an upgrade.

Disk management will not format the system drive, nor can you change the
system drive letter. The system drive (usually C:) is the only drive
subject to these restrictions.

You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
