Can't find media file

I put a music file into a presentation. The good news is that it plays but
it plays way past the last slide.

I now want it to stop playing earlier, but nowhere can I find a way to
change it in any way. It just continues playing long after the last slide.
The slide transition dialog box shows it's playing and the name. I know that
in custom animation there is usually the option to remove or change, but
there isn't one with this wave file. It doesn't show up in custom
animation. I've tried selecting all the objects in the slide where it starts
playing as well as everything else I can think of.

How can I bring this file to light so that I can get it to stop earlier in
the presentation?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, John:

Yes, I did add it as a transition sound. I see in the slide transition
dialog box an option to stop previous sound, but I can't get it to work
somehow. Do I just "choose" that option or is there more to do? I notice
you said "add" a transition sound which makes me think there's more to it
than what I did, which was just to click stop previous sound.

I'm sure you're on the right track, though. What further steps should I
take. Thanks, John!

You should just be able to go to the last slide and select "stop previous
sound" DON'T click apply to all (in fact don't click anything!) The music
should stop as the last slide starts. There are also tutorials on adding
sounds to play for xx slides on PowerPoint Alchemy
