Can't Find F: Drive For MP3 File

My MP3 player is plugged into my USB thingy, it is turned on and ready to go,
one problem. I can't find my MP3 player drive thing (I think it is the F:
drive)! Can anyone tell me where to find it, I know it is usually next to the
C and E drives

Doubleclick the My Computer icon on your desktop and see if the
MP3 drive (maybe "F") is listed under "Drives with Removable Storage".
May sure it is plugged in properly and turned on. Allso check if the
battery in it has a charge.

Next this to do is to check if the USB port is active and not asleep.
Under Control Panel>System>Hardware tab>Device Manager>
USB Controllers>properties
Or, plug in some other USB device like a camera and see if it is
recognized.

I forgot to add to check in the BIOS if the USB ports are activated.

Maybe this will helped... seems to be working for me now without shutting
down my pc...

Go to My Computer and right click
Select Manage>Services and Applications>Services
Set 'Plug and Play' to Automatic
Restart

I had also tried installing a 2.0 USB Port, although a friend advised that
may be the reason it was shutting down as soon as it recognized that there
was new hardward found... anyways... went back to the old 1.(?) USB port and
seems to be working fine.

As the name says... so-not-a-geek.... so please let me know if this works
for you.

Good Luck!!
