Can't enable firewall

I am on a dial up connection with AOL and am trying to enable the firewall. When I click on "change settings of this connection" nothing happens. Also when I right click on AOL in Network Connections nothing happens when I click on properties. The dial up connection for AOL says it is disconnected, yet I am online right now. I would appreciate any help I can get.

AOL's software creates a non-standard dial-up connection that doesn't
let you access its properties. This is how AOL designed it, so the
only advice I can give is to contact AOL for help.
