I have a user here who in windows explorer can click a file and drag it else
ware. he can drag it over the destination and the destination file highlights
to show thats where its going and he lefts go and nothing happens. Also if he
right clicks and holds the file and drags it once he lets go he doesnt get
any move menu.

Any one else have this happen before ?

GROOV3, have you checked your dragging & dropping settings?
Right-click on Start button
Properties
Start Menu tab
Customize button
Advanced tab
Put a check in "Enable dragging and droping"
OK - Apply - OK

Yep already checked that, he can drag and drop words with in programs such as
word outlook. but cant move folders or files.

het can cut and past but cant drag and drop or move.

very strange....

just tried that and it doesnt have an effect on windows explorer, it was
already set to enabled.

im thinking a repair of windows may be in order

Try these commands, courtesy of David Candy.

From Start, Run:

regsvr32 ole32
regsvr32 /i shell32

Restart Windows.

Thanks for that one Remesh. Good tip.

Groov3, let us know what happens

Thanks,
Frankco

Well done that fixed that problem plus another one we had with some internal
software.

Cheers Heaps
