Can't download zip files from internet

Every since I updated the newest security updates for
windows I haven't been able to download any zip files
from the internet. Could the added security be causing
the problem

Very unlikely. What sites are you trying to download from and give an
example of the files you're having trouble downloading. Are you running
a firewall or other third-party program? What about your av settings -
maybe you have a combination one like Norton Internet Security and
you've changed the settings?
