Can't Download Updates

Download stops or freezes. The Windows Update - Web Page Dialog window appears but download never starts

You could also try this question in microsoft.public.windowsupdate Newsgroup for faster and accurate replies.

Am I the only one having problems today using windows update?? Update
at times takes a very long time just checking for updates and when I try to
download the ones I want the download progress dialog does nothing.
Any help here will be appreciated.

I was in a hurry and didn't see microsoft.public.windowsupdate Newsgroup.
Case in point. I just clicked the link below and I waited... and waited and
waited finally I
clicked stop. All other web pages seem to open fine.

Any ideas here?
