Can't delete file in explorer

I was using Windows Media Player to view some files on my
hard drive. I've saved them into a CD and proceeded to
delete the files from the hard drive.

Windows explorer returns an error message saying that it
can't delete the file because it is being used. It is
asking me to close any program using the file and then
try again.

I don't have any applications running and have tried re-
booting several times but these don't work.
 
Open Task Manager (ctrl+alt+Del) and make sure the
process wmplayer.exe (Windows Media Player) is not
running. If it is end that task then try deleting files.
