I have this file I can not delete. I have no clue how it
got on my pc. I imagine a pc crash caused it to rename. Who
knows. I have tried every I can think of to delete it.
Problem is every time my pc starts Scandisk loads and tells
my one of my drives has an error. Bad file. This file has
an extention that looks like a square. No text no exe.. A
Square.

I have tried dos commands to delete it. Copy and paste to
get the exact spelling. No good. I have tried safe mode. No
good. Tried scaning with virus software to see if I can
delete it that way.No good. Can't rename it. Nothing sees
it as a valid file. Try to delete it I get error "can not
read from source file or disk". But I can delete anything
else on drive. I have searched the web for two weeks now
and can't find anything that will help. Much appreciated if
anyone here has a suggestion or two.

Suggestion:
Run check disk (replaces scandisk in earlier Windows versions)from a command
prompt:
Go to Start > Run and enter cmd
Enter chkdsk c: /f
Replace c: if you use a different letter
It will be scheduled for the next reboot
