After removing multiple viruses and spyware entries I'm not able to get a
client's computer on the internet. I can however get online after 1.
removing the winsock and winsock2 entires in the registry, rebooting then
re-installing TCP/IP protocol then rebooting once more. However, after this
one reboot it will not work anymore. I can ipconfig /all and I do get a
normal IP address. I cannot ping any sites like www.yahoo.com. I can ping
by IP address.

When I go into MSCONFIG I do see something that has to do with Norton. I
was reading about how un-installing Norton can cause this problem however I
don't think this is the case but nevertheless I will check on it tomorrow.

Other than that, can anyone tell me what else I might try to get this
client's internet connection going?

The computer is running WinXP Home with SP2 installed. Client does have
McAffee anti-virus with McAffee's firewall and all this other McAffee stuff.

Please advise.

Do a ipconfig /all and post the IP, subnetmask and dns here. Seems like the
dns is having some problem. BTW, are you using any router and is there any
firewall install?

Well there is a router however each and every other computer connected
connects to the internet fine. There is a McAffee firewall which is apart
of the McAffee suite. I did disable the entire firewall and still no luck.
