Hi,
I am trying to get a school owned laptop to work at the teacher's home on
her wireless setup.
I have been to her home, and after about 45 minutes of trying to force a
release and renew of the ipconfig parameters, I noticed the gateway IP was
not changing to her home linksys setup, but still looking for the school's
10.xxx.xxx.xxx gateway..
I attempted the "ipconfig /release and /renew" which did give me 0.0.0.0.
and on renewing, gave me all correct numbers except the gateway... the DHCP
is assigning numbers okay, but the gateway info will not change to the home
setup.
I deleted all (both) network profiles and entered them again from scratch,
but the 10.xxx. gateway still appeared. I can find no way to manually
change that number in the wireless adapters console.
I did not attempt to manually set the tcp/ip using the windows properties /
tcp/ip properties tab as I'm using the Dell console software to manage the
adapter.
In the meantime, I've read a lot of stuff here about what seems to be
related issues, but can't find a definite answer that I have not already
tried, so am hoping someone has some other options I can go in with on
Friday.
thanks,
