Can't Activate File and Printer Sharing

Windows XP

I've been trying to enable File and Printer Sharing on one of our machines
so that I can map a drive to that machine. Every time I click the OK button
in the Local Area Connection Properties, I get the following message:

"Your current selection will also disable the following components:
Client for Microsoft Networks
File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks

Are you sure you want to disable these components(s)?"

I've checked the list of installed clients, services, and protocols, and the
list contains the same items, and has the same items checked, as another
machine where File and Printer Sharing is enabled.

How can I get File and Printer Sharing enabled if every time I click the OK
button, it gets marked as disabled?

By the info given, I can't tell exactly where you are
trying to create the share. But in XP, all you have to do
is right click the printer in the Printers box, and click
sharing, then establish a share name and click ok.

Should be as easy as that. (assuming you are on a
workgroup)

We're trying to map a drive from machine A to a folder on machine B that is
already shared out on the. Both machines are in the same workgroup. The
problem machine - the one where we can't get File and Printer Sharing
enabled - is machine B.
