Hi,
I have 4 pc's xp pro networked in a workgroup. Just one pc in the network,
let's say the #2, can't access one specific pc (the #4), however it can see
it. When I try to access it I get: "...is not accessible. You might not
have permission to ....". More information: pc #2 can see and access all
others and on the other way around, it can be viewed and accessed by all
others including the #4 . I went through MS KB 304040 but it didn't help.
What next?
Tks,
Harold.

Harold,

First, check for misconfigured / overlooked firewalls, and for registry setting
restrictanonymous.
Misconfigured / overlooked firewalls:

Registry setting restrictanonymous:

Look at file sharing on the problem computer.

If no help, provide "browstat status" and "ipconfig /all" from each computer,
and we can diagnose the problem. Read this article, and linked articles, and
follow instructions precisely:

Please let us know if any of these suggestions are of any help. What you learn
may help others in the future, and that's the purpose of these forums.
