cant access information in folders,cd or office

click on office, folders or cd and get message Window installer, then cant

I have xp home, will not bring up any of off pro programs, saved docs or
allow access to cd. Window pop up with Window Installer, Prepare install,
message patch package could not be opened. Verify that patch package exists &
that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this
is a valid Installer patch package. Help I,m in the dark.

had to send computer to have fixed, problem was update error that froze
installer, was given installer clean up from web from Microsoft. Thanks for
help. Will continue to read and use help in future, I think it's great.
