can i run another windows

Im currently doing a database and spreadsheet course but its on windows
office 2000. My laptop is currently running on windows xp. I have the office
cd rom but cant seem to install it. ll im after is Windows access and Excel.
Any one ideas

Office 2000 is an application program. Windows XP is an Operating System.
Office is totally unrelated to the Windows Operating Version you are using.
You can install almost any version of Office on a Windows XP machine. (Old
DOS versions don't work well!)

Now, tell us what problems, error messages, etc. you are getting when you
try to install Office 2000 on your computer.
With that information, we can help you.

If it is an upgrade Office 2000 CD, you are out of luck unless you can find
a qualifying product like Office 97..
