Hi.
I had 2 PC's, Win/ME and Win/2000.
I shared C and D drives on each of them.
Now I upgraded the Win/ME to XP Pro and lost the network connections.
I expected some problems since the Upgrade Advisor warned me about
NetBEUI before the upgrade. In the LAN properties I have:
- Client for MS networks
- File and printer sharing..
- TCP/IP
On the Win/2000 I have the 3 items above and NetBEUI.
Please advice.

Noam,

normally you don't need NetBEUI and should uninstall it from the
other computer. Perhaps this already solves your problem.

If not, please have a look at

Thanks.
Solved - turns out that the sharings were lost during the upgrade
{blush}.
Well, so many things have changed, and I didn't see that at first.

Also, I removed NetBEUI, but I just don't understand how the shares
work without it.. I always thought it's NetBIOS/NetBEUI..
Can anyone explain this issue?
TIA

Noam,

Here are a couple good articles about NetBEUI vs NetBIOS (remember, WinXP is
WinNT V5.1):

Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

Noam,

now it's NetBIOS / TCP/IP. Works just as well.

The NetBIOS over TCP/IP Helper service does it, short name:
NetBT.

Thanks for all the replies.

The translation might kill this but it's something like:
"Being a paranoid doesn't mean they're not after me"
