can't access Acer laptop on network (wired router)

I have several computers with Windows XP and one Ace r notebook (5315)
with Vista Basic connected together on a Linksys wired router. All of
the computers have been set up for file sharing with ability to change
files on the other computers. I have turned off the Windows firewall
on all computers. The Acer computer can "see" all the computers on
the network and change files on the computers. And all of the
computers list the Acer under "network places", along with the Acer
drives (which have been set to file sharing too). However, when i
click on any of the Acer drives it gives the error message that I
can't access it, i don't have permission etc. And yet i can access
the Public folder of Acer under "my network places" of the other
computers. How can i get the other computers to access the Acer
drives (at least one drive would be fine).
thanks!!!!!
