Canon MPF80 and XP SP2 Failure

I too have experienced this problem with MPServic.exe and it not
starting. I cannnot get it to restart and the task mgr shows it
running, but I get the error that it cannot start MPService. Arggggg.
If I uninstall XP SP2, it works just fine, no problmes. Canon NEEDS
TO FIX THIS.

I too am using this printer and have the exact same problem. I found
this possible fix but have not tried it. If it works please reply. I
hope to test later tonight.

edit the file MPNETIPC.INI and change the 127.0.0.2 in the file to
127.0.0.1, this will resolve this problem (per canon tech support). The
file should be in \windows\system32
