XP SP2 Stopped my Canon F-80

Thanks to the change in SP2 for XP, my printer no longer works and I
cannot get the MPServic.exe to restart as it shows its currently
running. Thoughts? I will have to back out the SP2 until Canon and
admit there is a problem and post a fix. (e-mail address removed)

Why don't you try uninstalling the Canon software, reboot, re-install the Canon
software , and see how things are at that point ?

Quite a few people have reported problems with Canon printers. For some
a simple removal of the device and original driver and reinstall worked.

Just to add to. Uninstall the mspass & cannon printer from safe mode.
Then reinstall it in normal mode

I havn't tried the safe mode test yet but have learned of a possible
fix. Please try the suggestion below. I have also learned of a
Microsoft Hotfix but it's still in beta so a pay as you go support call
is required.

edit the file MPNETIPC.INI and change the 127.0.0.2 in the file to
127.0.0.1, this will resolve this problem (per canon tech support). The
file should be in \windows\system32
