Canon, Lexmark, Adobe, Etc Problems

Restored XP Home edition from a backup after a hard drive failure. I
had a Canon 6000, Lexmark X73, Adobe Acrobat installed. Nothing would
print... I did not get any error messages most of the time except an
offer to run troubleshooter.

I went thru all of the recommendations on this forum for cleaning
Lexmark stuff out and for removing all printer drivers. I was finally
able to get the Canon 6000 to work if I set it to send directly to the
printer... It will not work if it is set to spool anything. I
reinstalled Acrobat and it works now. I cannot get any USA printer to
work.. Other USA devices work.

I tried stopping and starting spoolers, most times I get a quick
screen that flashes so fast I can read it. Same with the sfc /scannow
command.


Any suggestions?

Oops...
I reinstalled Acrobat and now I cannot use it either... It stays
ofline and I cannot cahnge any properties,
