XP Pro and Lexmark x73 printer

I recently acquired a computer that has xp professional
already installed. I'm having problems getting my present
Lexmark X73 printer to install. I went to lexmark and
downloaded a driver although xp supposedly is compatible
w/x73. I keep getting the message (make sure printer is
on, make sure cable is not damaged, make connections are
snug) also get message (cannot find windows\sys32
\spool\drivers\w32x86\3\lxarunst.exe) can anyone tell me
what to do? Installed and uninstalled til I'm blue in the
face. HELP!

Ah, but there's a special way to uninstall a Lexmark printer that REALLY
cleans up all the mess.
