Canon i6100 Driver Does Not Work

There is no Vista full driver download available for this printer. It seems
that there is already a base Canon Inkjet driver in Vista. Downloaded Vista
supplementary driver for this printer from Canon and install completed
without error. I can see the printer OK but when I attempt to connect, I get
prompted for the driver. Any ideas on why this does not work, anyone?
