When I click on the Add/Remove programs icon on the
control panel, I get an error message "Feature
Unavailable" "The requested feature is not available".
How do you uninstall programs from a Windows XP embedded
system?

Kanchana,

Usually you don't either install or uninstall programs to XPe.
We developers make XPe as we see fit for certain use. And provide updates to
that.
What program do you want to uninstall if I may ask?

Also are you sure that you have Windows XP Embedded OS?
If you are then you should call support from device manufacturer and explain
to them what you are trying to do and why.

I am running Windows XP Embedded on HP Compaq t5000
terminal PC. It has a 256MB flash hard drive. There are
applications like Windows media player, MSN messenger
etc. I am trying to free up some hard drive space to run
Allen-Bradley RSView client on this PC.
Thanks

Kanchana,

The applications you mentioned are most likely integrated in to the image as
components. You cannot (*easy*) uninstall the components.
It may require a good knowledge of the apps and XPe image to do that
manually (you will need to clean up some registry, startup items, files and
make the changes persistent).

You should contact the manufacturer (HP) and they may be able to provide you
a custom XPe image or (even better) the XPe project (SLX) so that you could
modify it yourself using XPe Tools.
