Unable to Uninstall Outlook 2003 after attempting to install 2007

I installed MS Office Professional and everything went well except for
Outlook 2007 did not install and indicated that it was unavailable. I then
attempted to uninstall Outlook 2003 and it appears to be gone in part. The
desktop icon remains, and it still shows in my control panel >> Programs &
Features (Vista Home Premium) and I cannot uninstall. When I try to
reinstall Outlook 2003 I cannot, and when I try to install Outlook 2007 it
still shows as unavailable and there is no other option.

What do I need to do to remove all traces of Outlook 2003 when I cannot
uninstall it?

Thank you.

So how did you attempt to uninstall?
What Office programs are shown in Add/Remove dialogue of whatever o/s you
are using

I went into control panel to uninstall. Did not work. I inserted the
original CD to remove, the software did not even take me to the option to
repair or remove. I searched for the pst files, gone, (fortunately I have a
backup). If the pst files are gone, I assume, somewhere along the way, part
of outlook uninstalled but not completely. Outlook 2003 worked until I
attempted to install Outlook 2007.

An uninstall of Office or Outlook does not remove any data files
To remove an outlook data file you would need to physically delete it via
explorer

In explorer search, to include hidden, for winword.exe, what path is given
for any resulting find?
The same for outlook.exe

Outlook 2007 will not install if any other version of Outlook exists
