Cannot Show "Free/Busy" informatino intermittently

Hello,

I am performing an exchange migration project from 5.5 to 2003.

For those migrated users, I found that some users cannot show
other "Free/Busy" information intermittently during meeting request.
When we try to close the outlook and open outlook again, it seems to be
back to normal. However, it will happen again occasionally.

The user is using Outlook 2003 SP2

The problem is quite strange. Do you have any idea?

Best regards,
Chris

At first glance, it sounds like a replication problem where the Free/Busy is
not being properly replicated between the 5.5 box to the 2000 box.

If you have a support contract, I'd recommend contacting PSS and having them
assist. There's a couple of things that could be the cause and I would hate
to advise without knowing more...

If you don't have a support contract, first try increasing the logging level
for all Public Folder Replication events on both servers to confirm that
replication is indeed happening without error--- you may see no errors but
that may be misleading as there may be no attempt to replicate in the first
place. On both servers, set the logging level for these events to Maximum,
let it run for about an hour or so, and set the Replication priority level
on the Free/Busy to Urgent. You should generate a lot of events as the
replication happens pretty frequently. Make sure you return the logging
level to None when you're done capturing the activity.

If you don't have a PSS contract, at least you have an idea of whether or
not replication is even trying to happen, and this will get you started in
the right direction.

I am the implementation engineer of this project and I have to solve
the problem. No PSS contract so far.

The exchagne 2003 server is in production and I cannot change the
logging level in public folder. Do you have any other problem solving I
can do? Only 1 user is having this problem from the 200 migrated user.

I tried the following -
1. Re-create the profile
2. use outlook /cleanfreebusy to open outlook
For the 5.5 meeting that cannot be browsed by that problem user, other
user can browse the "free/busy" information with no problem.

Any other hint? I still have no idea on it is the
server/client/migration issue.

Thanks a lot.
