cannot set up file type association for .wav files

I suspect something in the Registry is broken. The file type association
for .wav files does not connect with the application (SONY Sound Forge)
that had been working for months. If I go to My Computer > Tools >
Folder Options and click on File Types, it shows that Sound Forge is
assigned to .wav and .wave extensions. But it doesn't work. If I click
on a .wav file, Windows says there's no program associated. If I right-
click and click Open With and select Sound Forge it still says there's
no program available to open that type of file.

What's going on? This was working find and suddenly just quit a few days
ago.

TIA

Sounds like an application registration problem. Get in touch with the
application developer on this issue.

Thanks Dave. I've already tried that - no response from Sony Pictures
Digital Inc so far. I suspect you're analysis is correct - the problem
only started after I installed an update to Sound Forge. Before the
update, the right-click action worked properly.
