Cannot see lines around text boxes?

I've just stared using my Powerpoint 2003. I'm editing an old presentation
created in Powerpoint 2000. On the edit page, I cannot see the lines around
my text boxes. When I view the slide show, they are there.

Any idea why this is or what settings I need to adjust.

I don't know what the issue was but I downloaded updates to Office and it
seems like everything is working. No need to respond.
 
As you discovered, the first thing everyone should do just after installing
PowerPoint 2003 is to go to Help > Check for Updates and be sure that service
pack 1 is installed.
