cannot retrieve backup from rw cd !!!

I made a copy of some files to a RW cd, now when I try to
open the files or copy them to the hard disk it doesn't
allow me, apparently the files are "locked". Removing the
read-only attribute won't help, I cannot even copy the
files somewhere else!

Can you see the files? Did you use encryption? Can you open them on the
computer on which you made the cdrw? If you can, then copy them to that
hard drive and just burn them to a regular cd-r - *not* a cdrw.
