Copying files to CD-RW

When I copy files to a CD-RW they become Read Only files. I go through the
process to change the attribute from Read Only to Archive. It "let's me do
it". But after hitting OK and going to look at the file again - it is back to
Read Only. Is there any way to copy files without their attribute chaging?

What third party utility are you using to write files to CD?
Have you contacted their technical support?

Windows XP does not have a packet writing component - so it cannot treat
even a CD-RW as large floppy.

"Read Only" is the normal state of all files written to any CD by any
utility. They are, in fact, "read only" because they can't be altered.

Files written to a cd-rw via packet writing software are not necessarily
read only.
