Cannot Print

Help ! - Recently migrated to a new machine running XP pro , trying to
install a Gestetner GLP800-Scout V52.3 printer which ran well under Windows
ME on old machine.. Xp displays the printer - via control panel but does not
print the test page - cannot print via the command prompt as instructed by
"help". Looked for driver on both gestetner website & driverguide.com who
advise HP laserjet series 11. Driver. Add that printer via XP and reboot -
still no printer . Printer is online and cable is in correct port.

Dead end ! - anyones advice appreciated ....

Is the LPT port enabled in the BIOS and correctly recognized in Device
Manager?
