Cannot print text in colur mode

The black cartridge in my LexMark Z23 has reached an empty state. As I
have no replacement to hand, I thought I'd simply print my page of
text using colour mode. But, whatever program I use, I cannot achieve
this.

I have removed the b/w catridge and I've confirmed that the colour
cartridge is OK by printing a small sample from PaintShop Pro. But
after using the various dialogs, including Printer Properties, to
specify Colour, the printer goes through the motions but NOTHING is
printed.

Any suggestions as to what might happening here please?

Hi

Look in the manual for your printer. You need a black cartridge to print in
colour. You'll have to buy a new black ink cartridge first.
