Cannot Open Volume for Direct Access

when i run a chkdsk at startup it says that
"Cannot Open Volume for Direct Access"

i cannot work out why, i have seacrhed the knowledgebase and to no avail

anyone else had this problem

the computer need to restart for do her job (in this case for to check the
hard disk)...
