cannot open icons or anything on start shortcut

i scanned for virus' found lots of trojan s startup etc, got rid of them but when i try to open an icon get messafe says windows cannot find nad also when i click on start button nothing in shortcut will open, icons disappear then come back on. can someone help me please, if its simple would rather not take it in for servive thankyou
 
If none open,press:Ctrl_Alt_Delete at same time,task mgr opens,select,new task
type:cmd In cmd type:Sfc /Scannow When the bar graph starts,install xp cd,exi
the info page.When its thru type:CHKDSK C: /F Then type:EXIT Restart computer.Remove cd
Run the DOS window in Min.sometimes the graph runs behind it at first.
