Cannot login

My daughter's XP was running good no need to login (although it has a user
account called Alan, because that's my old computer), but the PC is
automatically login.
She started to play MSN chat on Sunday and Monday (3 to 4 days ago),
suddenly when she turned on the PC, the login screen popped up and asking
password. The user name is me, ie Alan.
I tried to use many my old password but no luck, I am sure I had tried all
my possible password.

Any idea why the login screen suddenly pops up?

Try this:
1. Boot into Safe Mode, by pressing F8 early during the boot phase.
2. Log in as "Administrator". If you have never changed the admin's
password then it would be blank.
3. Control Panel / User Accounts.
4. Change your the password for Alan and keep a written record
of it, for perfectly obvious reasons.
5. Click Start / Run / cmd {OK}
6. Type this command:
control userpasswords2{Enter}
7. Click "Alan"
8. Untick the box that requires users to enter a password.
9. Click OK and type the password for "Alan" when prompted.
10. Boot back into normal mode.

Windows will now log you on automatically under the "Alan" account.

Hi,

Thanks for your info.
I also tried Administrator in the all possible password but failed in the
normal mode.
Is there any differences in using Administrator account in normal mode and
safe mode?

Did you try leaving the password blank?
