Cannot install Win XP

A. Background - New install of Win XP on blank Hd, Newly
assembled machine. Machine boots to CD ok.

Problem - Install starts ok then stops w/ error
message "file drmclien was not copied correctly". I get
the same error message with 4 different copies of Win XP.
Two are XP home and two are XP Pro.

B. Background - Since the install would not run from CD, I
tried to start the install from boot floppies.I downloaded
the files and created boot diskettes for Win XP Pro.

Problem - The machine begins to boot and starts to load
initial setup files & drivers ok, then stops w/
error "biosinfo.inf could not be loaded. Error code is
1024".

What could be the problem? All components are new and are
represented to be XP compatible.

First: give details of the motherboard and hardware configurtaion.

Second: Make sure that the motherboard BIOS is one that can run XP. If
not, update the BIOS to the latest version
(Found on the motherboard manufacturer's web site!!!!)

Third: Make sure you are not using a OEM locked version of XP. OEM locked
version of XP are version of XP that will only work with the OEM
manufactured PC (ie: Dell, HP IBM).

Forth: Make sure you are using original XP installation CDs. Copies of the
original CDs can be bad.

Sounds like the CD-ROM is not operating correctly.
Check/Replace ribbon cable and jumpers. Make sure
BIOS is set to Auto detect the drive. Also, in BIOS
make sure IDE controllers are configured properly.
The CD should be operating at UDMA mode 2.

I thought about that. I knew XP was finickey about
hardware and memory, so I changed CD, HD, Memory & cables
in sequence and re-tried after each change. I still get
the same error message.
