cannot get to login screen

computer gets stuck on boot in Windows 2k "Applying computer settings..."
It doesn't lock up, just seems to be getting stuck in a loop. What causes
this?

Hi Kat,

Try this
Restart to Safe Mode
(tap F8 key as you are posting)
choose Safe Mode
Start
Settings
Control Panel
System
Advanced tab
Startup and Recovery
uncheck "Automatically rebo..."
Now restart and write down the BSOD information
Post it here and someone can help you

I can't even get on in Safe Mode. There are a lot of Events in the log. A
lot have to do with RPC and COM service errors. There are no worms on this
system. What is a BSOD.

There is no BSOD - you must be referring to another post. I can't even get
to safe mode. Same thing happens. There are lots of event IDs and since no
one has answered this yet, I will repost.
