Cannot get page 2 on a custom form

Alex Martinez

Hello,

I need help badly. I designed a form going to Tools forms and selecting in
the Standard Form Library "Message" form. In the design mode I selected
page two and added some custom combo and text boxes. When I went to view
the form it looks great. When I send the form to the user they only get the
message page not page 2. I clicked the Edit Compose Page button and save it
then I added the same text and combo boxes after I clicked the Edit Read
Page button and save it. I also click in design mode the "send form
definition with item" and and save it. That did not worked I also unclick
the "send form definition with item" again that did not work. What am I
missing? Can someone help me? I need to get this simple form by Monday.
Any tips will be appreicated. Thank you in advance.

That procedure will not work for what you want. If you want the
controls on the read page to auto-load, you want to design the form in
non-split mode. Then you split the form, and design the unique parts
of the split form. I think, if you check your current design, the
controls on the read form went in with different names. And because
you haven't put anything in those controls, the reader doesn't see
them.

You didn't say whether you're working in an Exchange organization or whether this form is going to people in your organization or to external recipients. If the latter, then you must check the "Send form definition with item" box. There is no other way for the recipient to see your form design.

If you are using Exchange as your mail server, there may be other factors involved. Let us know.

My users are now able to see page 2 the funny thing about that is if the
user goes back to the message page after populating the text and combo boxes
on page 2 and send it to the administrator. The administrator will not get
page 2 only page 1. If the sender send the form and is in the Page 2 tab
the the receiver will get both pages. I don't know why. We are using
Microsoft Exchange as our mail server and all users have Outlook 2002. The
user's who are sending the e-mail forms are mostly in our office and from
other states (we have offices in the East coast) using there office
desktops and/or are out on the field using their laptop. Now I have not
click the "Send Form Definition" I am wondering do I need to do that or
something else? Any tips will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Where is the form published? For other people to use it, it needs to be in the Organizational Forms library or in each user's Personal Forms library.

Regardless, I can't think of a scenario that would produce the results you're seeing.
