cannot fully defragment volume

I am having trouble defragmenting my c drive in vista. I am using diskeeper
trial version and it shows that I have a mass of fragmented files even after
a defragment. I am led to beleive that these files are somehow locked. When
I try the fsutil volume dismount C: I get a message saying access is denied.
what do I do to resolve this issue?

Disable hibernation, disable system restore, set the page file to a fixed
size,do an offline defrag to defrag the page file and system files. When the
system reboots run another defrag pass, enable system restore and
hibernation. When the new reserved disc space is created for system restore
and hiberfil.sys it should be created in contiguous free space, minimizing
fragmentation.

Talk to diskeeper Tech support.

try the following, run,cmd,CHKDSK/f then press enter. this will check your
drive for any faulty fragments. defragmenter only fails if a segment in the
drive is caught in the middle.
