Cannot find %USERPROFILE%/favorites/. on install

I have been trying to install the update for Microsoft
Antispyware Beta but ehenever the installation starts a
message appears saying it cannot locate %
USERPROFILE%/favorites/. How do I solve this?

OK, open Command prompt and run this:

set

it will show you all the variables defined in the system - there should be
one named USERPROFILE and it should point to something like c:\documents and
settings\username

But there is something suspicious in that behaviour of your system because,
as far as I know, it has nothing to do with your Favourites...


Please start your system in the Safe mode and perform a full scan using
other antivirus, antitrojan and antispyware programs..

Or maybe you have downloaded MSAS from an unknown source? If so, try
directly from Microsoft's site.
