Cannot delete files on remote web server when I publish using FP 2002

When I publish from Front Page 2002 from my local hard drive to the
remote web server that has Front Page 2003 server extensions installed,
it ask if I would like to delete the files that exists on the remove
server but do not exits on the local hard drive. I say yes, then when I
look at the publish log is says that I confirmed the deletion of the
files but does not say it deleted the files. When I publish again it
ask me to delete the files again. I have had my system administrator
delete the entire directory on the remote web server and recreate it
with the server extensions. I then did a publish all to the server,
then publish only changed files, then made a new html file on my local
hard drive using FP, publish it to the server. Then I delete the html
file that I just made and publish to the server from my local hard
drive using FP and then did a publish only changed files. Still the
same problem, it will not delete the remote server files.

Does anyone know how to fix this so when I publish from Front page 2002
to the remote server it will delete the files?

Thanks for any help in advance.

Actually there are no FP 2003 server extensions, the latest version is 2002.

That said, go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download the FP Cleaner utility.
Run the function that clears the Cache{.web} files.
Then see if you get the same prompt.

Steve,

No luck, FP will not delete files on the remote web server. every thing
is working right or looks like it is , it just will not delete. I have
even publish from the remote web server on another computer with FP to
the local hard drive and then did a publish only file after deleteing a
file on the hard drive thought FP, still no lock. It has to be
somethight on the remote web server that is not set right.
what do you think it could be?

Thanks
Kevin

Just ask the web host to run a server health check and allow it to repair the permissions.

Thank Thomas,

That worked, having my web host administrator run a server health check
and allow it to repair the permissions. I can now delete files in front
page and then publish it and it deletes the files on the remote web
server.

Thanks for the help.
