Cannot create e-mail in Windows Mail

I have a problem with creating mssgs in Windows Mail: every time I click on
Create Mail the new mssg window pops up but becomes sort of transparent, the
new-mail window as well as the Windows Mail. The mssg pops up "Windows Mail
has stopped working. - A problem caused the program to stop working
correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is
available." - which never happens.
Also, when I go to Tools / Option / Advanced it obligates me to create a
Signature but when I do and click on apply or ok, same thing happens - first
it hangs for a second or two and then closes (by itself).
Anybody can help?

Try this: Delete your mail account, restart Windows Mail, then recreate
that account.

If no improvement, I suggest upgrading to Windows Live Mail:
