Windows mail has stopped working yikes?

Hi
I have tried to set up Windows mail on my laptop using Windows
Vista.....After signing up and setting it up when I click on the W/mail icon
it says looking for files then another window saying :

"Windows Mail has stopped working ...A problem caused the program to stop
working correctly.Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution
is available."

Windows does not close the program and notify me of a solution I have to
close the program manually using the close program button!

So can you help with this problem please as I need to get my emails
collected by Windows Mail ? Thankyou!

Kind Regards
Pirate

That type of error is usually caused by interference from a non-
compatible antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running?
As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus must be turned off,
although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects.
In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled.

If turning off your antivirus email scanning function does not resolve
your problem, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it
is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus
programs: http://get.live.com/wlmail/overview

Email scanning in any antivirus must be disabled, for reasons
explained here:

Thankyou for your help!

You're very welcome. Good to hear Windows Live Mail is working
well for you.

I hope people won't think my questions are too simple but I sure could use
some help.

1. I would like to make the mail program font bigger, but leave the message
font alone. I know how to adjust it.

2. The letters are very fuzzy and somewhat overlapping when in bold.

3. How do you get rid of the e-mail address which accompanies the display
name.

4. How do you get rid of the > sign with e-mail replies.

5. I wish I were smart enough to load XP on my PC

Thank you

Tom
